Biography

Lü Kaiyang, Associate Chief Physician, MD, Associate Professor, Department of Plastic Surgery, Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.

Specializes in various aesthetic-related scar reconstruction, wound repair, adult and pediatric burns, pediatric plastic surgery, reconstruction of giant congenital nevi in children, laser aesthetics, facial rejuvenation, oculoplastic surgery, fat grafting, breast plastic surgery, gynecological intimate plastic surgery, and aesthetic reconstruction after resection of body surface tumors.

He was one of the earlier practitioners in China to perform fractional laser treatment for extensive scars in children and adults. He pioneered the use of fractional laser therapy for scar pain, pruritus, and sleep disturbance, and pioneered the combination of pre-expanded perforator flap technique with fractional laser technology to comprehensively improve scar-related functional impairment.

He has served as Principal Investigator of one Youth Program and one General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Rising-Star Program project, and one Major Clinical Research Project under the Shanghai Three-Year Action Plan for Promoting Clinical Skills and Clinical Innovation in Municipal Hospitals. He has published more than 10 SCI-indexed papers as first author or corresponding author.
